Worst Vegetable

i nominate the Cauliflower

>bland taste
>meh texture
>nutritionally mid
>no reason to eat this over a broccoli, bak choy, asparagus, eggplant, literally any other vegetable
>has to be roasted, baked, drenched in sauce, riced, to disguise how utterly boring and unexciting it is

it literally only needs some butter(or olive oil if that's what you're into) and salt to be delicious like 99% of other vegetables
don't overcook it but also don't keep it crunchy

I think it has a nice taste to it. Texture is fine too if prepared correctly.

Cauliflower tastes surprisingly good with a sprinkle of breadcrumbs fried on butter. Me mum always made it like that and it was my favorite vegetable.

On a sidenote, anyone tried picrel? Seen that at my local grocery and it activated my almonds

Tastes like cauliflower. I always buy pic related frozen.

I like artichoke. The heart soaked in some melted butter is heavenly. There's not much of it though and it's a huge pain in the ass to cook.

I need to cook, clean and eat in less than 20 minutes or I'm opening some canned sardines.

Kek, I'm working bro, I'm waking up at 6. I get home, weight some frozen veggies, some frozen fish, put everything in the steam oven, take a shower while it's cooking. Eat, put everything in the dishwasher, brush teeth, crash in my bed, do my anki cards then fall asleep watching whatever tranime sonarr torrented that day. Such is a life of a wagecuck. Thanks for reading my blog.

Never bought anything frozen while working though. But I understand that it could be tougher for some people.

These are the best broccoli imo. Boil for 10 minutes and then fry them until they're slightly golden brown. The only con is that they are pretty hard to cut into uniform pieces compared to the regular kind.

are you or your mom eastern European? cause that's how it's done here
same thing was used for brussel sprouts and string beans, it makes the biggest difference for the latter

Too bad you've never eaten a good vegetable. I've tasted cauliflowers from a permaculture growth and it's truly something. Even just organic is already good. Vegetables from the supermarket are not vegetables anyway.

I use it to soak up all the grease from cooking various meats. Pork flavored cauliflower rice is pretty good.

cauliflower is actually very tasty when it's made right. My fav recipe is to toss pieces of cauliflower with marinade (EVOO, turmeric, smoked paprika, chilli, garlic, soy sauce) and bake at 220 °C for 35-40 min, turning few times. It's absolutely amazing.

Do you still have a cauliflower taste with all that?

yeah, it's 1/2 tea spoon of the dry spices and 2-3 table spoons of the wet ingredients, all enough for a full large head of cauliflower. It complements the taste of cauliflower really nicely.

Why do so many people on Culinaly think that any amount of seasoning eradicates all flavor? There's still the flavor of the main item, the flavor of the spices is layered on top.

It is a unusual color, if white asparagus is too strongly flavored cauliflower can be used for color contrast.

Too sweet, basically a fruit. Makes a decent mash with good seasoning to offset the sugar.

No, I meant that while I've seen Velveeta, I've only seen blocks and slices. I've never seen packets. I've never eaten the stuff, either, except for at this one local burger chain that uses the slices for their burgers.

Yeah, the cheese sauce version is the best, powder you mix with milk or water is worst, blocks/slices are middle

fiddleheads are the worst.....bland flavour that doesn't pair with anything when used as a constituent-ingredient in a larger dish/needs to be served on-the-side with like a gravy or some shit to mask the gritty mud taste, poisonous if you prepare it improperly......what the frick were the ancient French peoples thinking??

cauliflower is fine, there's plenty of greens out there that just taste like grass or you need to drench them in butter or spices or dressings. blanched broccoli/cauliflower are identical to me, in a blind test it'd just be a 50/50 guess

Well I like it, but even if you don't it's a canvas. Roast it. Then put cheeze on it. Cauliflower with cheeze vs macaroni with cheeze. Keto version.

It's a good veg to dip in sour cream / lipton onion soup dip. Then the flavor is more about the dip.
