Jesus Christ why is it so expensive? Wasn’t all this processed shit supposed to be the cheap alternative to the more-expensive-to-produce “real” stuff?

that price can't be real? a 400g block of real cheddar cheese in the uk is about £3, or about $3.81 according to google.

why is it allowed to buy this with food stamps?

You can buy practically anything with food stamps depending on the location, you can even buy hot deli food and KFC with food stamps in some places. You can buy protein powder and plant seeds too. I've been on food stamps my entire 30 years of life and the only time I've ever seen it be denied is when I tried to buy a candy necklace when I was like 8 because it was registered as israeliteelry lol.

Also I looked it up just now and in Alaska you can buy hunting and fishing gear with food stamps.

I'm not poor but I thought there were signs all over the grocery store saying which items are eligible and which aren't... never paid much attention but I always assumed shit like cheese flavored oil would not be allowed

That's not much more than what it costs at my local Walmart. The Walmart brand is half the price but you can still get 8 oz of actual cheddar for less than that.

Burger here (5'8 118 so no I'm not a lardo), my dad and I occasionally get a can of this and a box of Ritz crackers when we get fuhbawl snacks.
It's like that buffalo chicken dip at a social gathering snack table; you try it once, "ehhh...", you go back to the chips and french onion dip, but as the party rolls on you get curious like "was it THAT bad?" so you have another, same reaction but it's a bit better. Repeat throughout the night, you'll have 5 easily.
Personally I use 2 crackers to make giant Ritz Bitz

    >$7.39 for aerosol cheese
Anyone who buys this for more that the $3it's worth GETS WHAT THEY DESERVE.
At that point, you may as well be making your own with american cheese and a lil' extra milk and a dash of sodium citrate, then loading a microwavable squeeze bottle.
It's too bad nobody makes the "Chub packs" of squeeze cheeze with the little star shaped extrusion hole in the side anymore.
Those could sell like hotcakes if they came in different flavors.
