I lived with a girl in France for awhile and yes, I bought a baguette pretty much every day. I never bought a "shitload" because they go stale after a day. Also yours look like shit, and are absurdly expensive (I know, I know...I also live in the US). Seriously though, you saw that bread and thought it looked good enough to make a thread about? I feel bad for you, anon.

There is nothing wrong with that bread aside from your autism.

I was going to concede and say that there's one or two okay looking ones I could pull from the pile, but then I realized they were on the sourdough side (bleh).

Your bread is bad and you should feel bad, Pierre.

You have no idea how hard or soft that bread is.

Baguette has a rock hard crust no matter who makes it.

Sure and then not just them, then the real problem is where to put them all, I can't even share all of this with my neighbors let alone eat it all myself.

Baguettes don't even look like food. It's just a big ol' stick of hard crust. The worst part of real bread, in stick form.

A baguette shouldn't cost more than a euro.

    America is dystopian.

The last time I went back to France to visit my dad they were likr EU$2.50 and the $4 ones I get in the US are better because they're not subsidized and actually have to compete

      They are smaller, though

baguette is just flour-salt-water-yeast. There is nothing to compete. Whoever is most consistent wins.

The ingredients are the same but the quality can vary widely
The place I go to where they're $4 uses a poolish and they have so much flavor it's hard to eat other baguettes

Not really, people on this board are making shit up. A baquette is like $1.00-$1.50 you euro types get riled up way too easily.

Proud Frenchman here. In France we have beautiful teen girls who deliver bread to our homes in such carry bags as this. We call these teen beauties “anges du pain” (bread angels)

Here in the USA we woiuld get smacked or shot for that or the girls would get grabbed and thrown into the back of some black van or limozine then there's some Lifetime Network movie made of the chick sometimes more rarely it's some goofball boy

The USA is a big country so we get weird cults and groups generally but not always around the west coast.

Two things, one, not in France, it takes two full days for them to get stale, and two, that guy clearly fricks and he forgot who he was supposed to be with the night before based on a remark his secretary made and now he's got to get these baguettes delivered to a lot of b***hes with some seriously questionable excuse but they're from the good bakery and those b***hes know the deal, hate the game not the player
