You guys ever notice that there's only ONE good ketchup brand?

Does this phenomenon extend to any other kind of product? I can't think of any others.

I like the whataburger ketchup better. Both regular and spicy

The spicy ketchup tastes like Mama Selita's so I like it

Whataburger is total bullshit ever since those chicago fatcat chodes took over, but the ketchup is still the best. I miss the special edition spicy that they had for a little while, it had a white top on it in the restaurant packets

What was so special about it?
I'm in Delaware but I've got a friend in Texas who shipped me some of the Whataburger ketchup, both spicy and regular. The spicy was very similar to Mama Selita's but I don't remember the regular at all. I'm guessing it's just "oh; tastes like ketchup. yippee."

They keep giving me bottles of it for free in my Just4U but I bought a box of Mama Selita's (12 to a box) a few years ago that we're still working through so I wouldn't know yet. We've got four in the pantry.

What you need to do is make sure that your ketchup is labelled "fancy". It sounds like some bullshit made up to sell more bottles for however much it costs to print five letters per label, but it means it contains more tomato solids, increasing the specific gravity. What that means for the end product is that it's much more viscous, staying as a glossy pile and not a flat, pooling puddle. Ever get cheap ketchup at a cookout and watch it run across the plate getting all over everything? That's why.

Ketchup is not supposed to be sweet, it's not a fricking desert.
When I went to Europe their ketchup didn't have sugar.
Only reason amerigolem think every ketchup but heinz tastes bad is because theyre so used to their 90% corn syrup 10% tomato goyfeed.

I tried the hot version of this noname supermarket brand yesterday with fish and chips, and I thought it was delicious. It wasn't hot, but sweet and zingy. Like a cheap sauce at a takeaway, but thicker and higher quality.

Heinz isn't bad, but it's only popular because it isn't strong.

I like Pudliski as well, but it's always out of stock here in Bongland.

Baste. This is what I typically get. That or publix greenwise. I'm really not very picky about it to be frank. I came here to see if there is better ketchup out there.

I avoid the religious seals and make my own condiments including ketchup. Way better than HFCS with cane sugars and honey, several vinegars and overripe tomato puree slow-cooked to brightness.

Modify this base to your tastes:
      1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
      1 small onion, finely chopped
      2 garlic cloves, minced
      1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika or pimentón de la Vera
      1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
      1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
      1/3 cup distilled white vinegar
      1 tablespoon tomato paste
      Two 8-ounce cans tomato sauce
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Store in glass mason jars so less plastic.

And I found some! Thank you for this recipe anon! I will try it out when I eventually run out of ketchup. Takes forever to use up.

This autistic shit where fat americans from a few cities absolutely sperg out about ketchup is one of the weirdest trends I've ever seen. They always sperg the frick out and say the same few lines crying about how only children like ketchup. It's insane
    >waah waah, it has too much sugar

      >You guys ever notice that there's only ONE good ketchup brand?
This has been noticed for at least 20 years now. The reason is also well known : ketchup is balance of salt, vinegar and sugar. Heinz gets the balance exactly right.

Tell me you've never tried a different brand of worcestershire sauce without saying it outright.
