I wish Brits wouldn't use made up words like "lush", "cor" and "scran". It upsets me greatly.

As a burger, to my understanding "cor blimey" is a weird bonglard slangification of "God blind me." Yeah but you can't really blame that on white people. It's not our fault abos have moronic languages. And yes, I said languages (plural), because there are about 200 of them and none of the different tribes could agree which ones to speak. So naturally, we decided to choose the most moronic-sounding names from each language for our towns. Because that's just what you do in Australia, apparently.

Is British curry sauce nice? What kind of curry could you equate it to for an American? Bongs always go on about curry sauce and chips

We had a frick load of Indian immigration back in the day which explains our love of curry and it is indeed pretty good. Usually you get it from a chippie or a Chinese takeout place

Chip shop curry is very much like Katsu curry, infact it was the Brits who introduced curry to Japan.

I've seen worse on the opposite end of the spectrum too. Places with extra mature, vintage cheddar, but timing it is so precise that you either get cheese that isn't melted at all, or melted so much that the grease breaks out and drips everywhere.
That and cheap places without the extra facilities to melt the cheese later. Sad affair.

When I was growing up it was basically impossible to get decent burgers, especially cheeseburgers. Burger buns weren't sold in every store, you would usually have just bread rolls. If you wanted a cheeseburger, you'd get unmelted slices of cheese, or grated cheese.
It was shit going to a bbq on the cusp of when proper burgers started to become a thing, and getting served the depressing burgers born out of no effort. Even cheese singles wouldn't melt from the residual heat.

I'm surprised that it's a real burger bun, and the cheese has been exposed to heat.

I'm convinced the though never occurred to most British people until ~2007 and even then it was sacred restaurant knowledge.
