First off, Im American. I have to preface the post with that because Im shitting on Americans. While in the US people can be appreciative of good food obviously, I feel like the older generations take pride in cheap shitty food. For example, the cheapest shitty starkist tuna is dog shit and awful, but its whats used for american tuna salad. Most americans would prefer a sandwich made of boiled, reflavored with soy broth tuna scrapings mixed with canola oil mayo on 50 ingredient bread over a tin of high quality, spanish/italian tuna in evoo.

> oh its in oil? hmm it tastes kind of bitter
> how am i supposed to whip this into a tuna FISH salad when its a big steak?
> oh this was $5? Haha, wow and its worse than what I usually get for 89 cents.

Unironic conversation i had with my uncle that made me start this thread. Why are products like BAR S even on the market, do people have no shame? If I see someone eating that I know that they dont know ANYTHING about biology, the body or nutrition. I've had enough. im sick of everything being cheapened to this point. Oreos used to have cream in them, they are now touted as A FRICKING vegan FOOD.

People usually just want whatever they're used to. And if they get used to the 89 cent can of tuna and think it's fine they can't justify spending 550% more on something similar. If you want to change that then you have to somehow let everyone have access to the highest quality of food from birth.

Im not talking about nostalgia, im talking about an arrogance that they are getting the same or better experience for cheaper when they simply are not. They are getting a less healthy, bad foryou product. BAR S hotdogs are nothing even comparable to fricking nathan's dogs.

Another one that pisses me off is frozen pizzas using potato starch and canola oil as a cheaper cheese substitute. That shouldnt even be legal.

You're gonna flip your shit when you find out who owns Nathans and what ractopamine is then.
--You aren't wrong about how Shit most Amerilard's tastes are, but you also have to understand that in the past 15 years, DRASTIC changes have occurred in our already heavily compromised food supply.
If you want to continue eating from stores, you'll have to settle back into blissful, willful ignorance, I'm afraid.

That was my point. If you want to eat clean, real food these days, you HAVE to do the legwork and research yourself.
Just going to the company's splash page and rooting around isn't enough either these days. Intentional lying and deception is de rigueur in today's advertising an promotion.
Best thing anyone can do is to search for local farmers and small businesses that you can go to in person to buy their products, but even that is no guarantee.

Ive figured out what I can eat locally thats fine. I still eat a lot of seafood like shrimp etc. A local butcher I went to started eething when I questioned him.

              > do your pigs eat soy feed?
              > uh, yea idk

nice job buddy! i dont remember the whole convo but he was getting uncomfortable and unhappy with me.

I just dont understand how people can care so little man it pisses me off. Almost everything is fricking poison now.

                I'm right with you, man.
There are still a few out there who care.
The last 6 years have damaged people so deeply, on so many levels, the only way they can seem to cope is to just go through the motions.
It seems that most are just waiting for the "other shoe to drop" and there to be a full on collapse, but I really don't think it's going to go down like the "moobies" at all.
Hang in there and eat as clean as you can, friend. Might not be a bad time to start up some seeds.

I'm pharmacist. You shouldn't use big words like that until you understand what you're talking about. You know what's scary? People who know enough to be dangerous and scare people.

Unfortunately, most people simply don't give a shit about what they eat. They don't read labels, they don't know what's in their food, they are oblivious to different qualities of food and so on.
Just make your good food for yourself and others who appreciate it and let the plebs eat their Bar-S pig anuses

I volunteered at a soup kitchen during Highschool. The hotdogs we used were far higher quality than Bar S. Dollar tree fell off after they got rid of the $1 carton of white eggs.

I usually only buy Bar S hotdogs. Tbh when it comes to the higher tier stuff i always taste a lot of grease or oil or some kinda grit. Not saying i cant eat nathans or whatever i just prefer it cause i can get 6 packs of bar s for 1 hebrew national pack.
