I got a box of Life and two boxes of instant oatmeal last week for 66¢ each ($5/3boxes IE $1.66ish each and I had a $3 off coupon if you buy 3 boxes of cereal or oatmeal from Quaker so I paid $2/3 boxes).
Was gonna buy Kellogg's stuff this week with a similar set up but I was told that if I brought home more cereal, she'd leave me and I could build myself a new missus out of Crispix and Cheerios (we have 12 boxes of cereal in the kitchen if you count the 2 oatmeal boxes I mentioned).

There wont be a riot until chicken prices go up drastically. Brown people can still buy gigantic bags of chicken legs or whatever for under 10 bucks. When that goes to 20, there might be riots. I'n my area I've watched those bags go from about 5.50 to around 8 dollars. Meanwhile, the price of beef has basically tripled.

I don't have to eat oatmeal. I could buy the more expensive stuff, like eggs, breakfast sausage, taters, bread, or even that "cereal" that is 97% sugar, 2% multivitamin, and 1% oats.
I love oatmeal because it is honestly the most filling of all the options available. That being said, I'll eat a bowl of oatmeal with a full breakfast now and then because I'm not a breakfast bigot, and honestly, I love a big bowl of oatmeal after dinner as "dessert."
One minute oats cost the same as the other types, and you can be super lazy and eat them in a cold bowl of water if you want.

Dogs and cats, if you know how to catch them.
I like to make orange cat or dog and serve it to guests to see if they can notice a difference between that and chicken. Many American capitalists say they can tell the difference, but they really can't.
The look on their faces when they realize they just ate dog is priceless. And then they keep eating it.
