EU regulators have discovered toxic inclusions of arsenic in the steel. Matfer is doing the responsible thing and issuing a recall so there are no adverse health consequences to their beloved customers (EU only).
Don't worry, Ameribros. They haven't issued a recall in the US, so you can continue to use your pans as before and ignore these silly heavy-handed regulators! 🙂
UFOs Are A Psyop Shirt $21.68 |
USA is fine.
And this is what they say when you send their French customer support an email.
>we appreciate your understanding and trust
Yessir, thankyou sir
>no explicit mention of the pans being safe to use
>no explicit mention of the contamination bein isolated to EU
So the pans are just as toxic everywhere, and the only reason they're not issuing a recall is because they haven't been forced to.
Got it.
Well duh, everyone knows regulation is just stifling businesses from true innovation and providing the best value to their customers.
EU regulators are the real bad guys in this story.
Dog bless the USA.
Cool spacing. What website did you come from, I wonder?
You do realize the "reddit spacing" meme itself was created to let newbies announce themselves as newbies by using it?
This type of formatting was common on text forums from the '90s and early '00s, which is where Culinaly would spawn from, and many of the early users would come from those communities.
Well before reddit even existed as a website.
only newbies cope this hard about trying to be oldgays
whatever helps you feel better I guess.
You didn't even try to refute or say anything against my post you just said "LE REDDIT MAY MAY" so clearly you don't have much to provide to this conversation anyway.
reddit spacing was being called out long before you started coming here, and was a telltale sign that a poster was accustomed to the post formatting on reddit, which required double spacing to register a line break in the final post
return, newbie
Lol no, i've been here legitimately since mid 2004. You're not going to get me to leave 20 fricking years later.
Post the oldest image you saved from Culinaly.
He already did. Are you fricking moronic?
Neither of which was saved from Culinaly. You are not an oldgay.
I started browsing this website last week.
I am an oldgay.
Yes they were lol, I just randomize file names when I post because I'm not a fricking newbie like yourself.
Here is a 12 year old screenshot you frickin child.
>filename starts with 13-
>2012
You are a newbie/cancer.
I've got this old one from SA.
I've changed computers multiple times over the years though and I'm not autistic enough to keep some giant folder of chan images for 20 years. I've got a handful of old screenshots, but not some all-encompassing archive of my time on Culinaly.
>i-im not new! ive been here since uh since-
You got called out, stop being a homosexual.
Why the frick should I let him get away with falsely accusing me of being a newbie, he didn't "prove" a fricking thing, he wants to perpetuate the "reddit spacing" meme and you newbies are happy to back him up while pretending you've been here longer than I have when I'm frickin 40 years old and you homosexuals probably aren't even 25+.
This is clearly a new concept to you, but Culinaly is anonymous. You don't have a reputation to defend.
You're only proving their point by trying.
Nah, i've been doing this for 20 years, I will happily reply to these morons for hours, I've got multiple monitors up and this takes almost no effort. Don't ruin this for me.
I appreciate you switching up your posting style since being called the frick out, but you do know you can still line break, right?
You don't need to double space here, but basic formatting still helps.
I line break when I want
not when you demand
>local consumer protection authorities carried out testing on products "as sold" ie. without proper seasoning
Yep, it's what I thought. moron bureaucrats being busy-bodies and doing testing in moronic ways to determine that if you use your pans like an absolute moron it might not work correctly. If you live in the EU and you abide by this nonsense recall you are a sheep, and deserve every single bit of tyranny that these people foist upon you.
Some americans are so dumb i can't tell if baiting or not
he's not baiting. nearly half the country seethes at any level of government. they'd willingly take private roads/police/EMS if they could and when they'd inevitably fail they'd still blame the government.
Why does this bother you?
it doesn't, i'm just stating facts. why do governments make you seethe so much? answer without using buzzwords
>t. has Teflon in bloodstream because DuPont poisoned the entirety of the US water system due to loose regulations and lobbying efforts
Forever chemicals are a global problem. EU regulations won't save you from damage thats already been done. I live in a rural area with my own well water that I get tested regularly.
de Buyer bros we stop keep winning
>de Buyer bros we stop keep winning
oui oui oh lala monsieur honhonhon
>Americans are already so moronic they won’t even bother with a recall
Fricking love my de buyer pans.
de Buyer gang rise up!
I love my 14" debussy
This is their official affiliate account.
More dipshits thst don't know how to season a pan.
Jfc just put some oil and onions in it and give it heat it's not fricking rocket science
Yes, just put a delicate, 0.001-micron-thick layer of polymerized oil that strips off whenever you cook meat, in between arsenic and your food. Things will work out fine...for you.
just say nanometer ffs
0.01x10^-10000 nanomillimeters
Which is why he said nanometer, not nanomillimeters
>wypipo don' season dey payn
Yeah, yeah. You need to change it up, it's fricking BORING
More information about the recall:

honestly if you buy a pan made out of toxic heavy metals that literally dissolves itself into the food, you are a irredeemable moron
why i season my pan instead of my food
hahaha my carbon steel pan is a de buyer GET FRICKED ARSENIC EATERS HAHAHAHA *laughs so hard he loses control and poops his diaper*uh oh...
What the frick do I cook on if I don’t want to get poisoned? If pans are out of the question, do I just have to cook with sticks over a live fire?
Just eat fresh fruits and vegetables raw. You won't get poisoned. I promise.
I hate this man so much, just as much as I hate George Soros.
de buyer gang here
damn, should I switch to ceremaic (real ceremaic not caraway crapola)
Real ceramic has a bad habit of exploding.
The Uncle has weighed in on the Matfer scandal.
*dad joke; fake applause*
The grease is going to kill me long before the arsenic
Nothing wrong with grease.
the sequel is pretty terrible
Can't say the same for arsenic though.
I bought my matfer from WebstaurantStore on Jan 9, 2022, and received it on Jan 15. The bad pans started being manufactured on Jan 1, 2022. So I'm probably safe right? What are the chances they got an arsenic pan from the factory to their warehouse and then shipped it out within 9 days?
>The bad pans started being manufactured on Jan 1, 2022.
They stated that they are manufacturing pans exactly the same as they always have, and they haven't said how often these random tests occur, so I'm not so sure WHAT is affected here.
Well it's not the manufacturing that would have changed, it's just a bad batch of steel. They have named specific batches of pans which used the steel that tested bad. There's no reason to believe that different batches of steel would have the same issue.
Do you think Matfer is smelting iron and coal themselves? No, they're importing the steel from China. Probably using the same supplier. Are all batches tested by these EU regulators? If Matfer is privy to this information, they don't appear to believe that high levels of free arsenic are cause for concern. The problem isn't the arsenic. The problem is the EU regulators--and also Amazon, for telling their American customers about the issue.
Well the testing apparently has cleared the pans made after September 2023 so I do assume that the regulators test all the batches.
Where does it say that?
It's on the French website, as well as in the emails sent by Amazon
It doesn't clear any pans. It only condemns the ones from the batch that were tested.
Yeah but why wouldn't the government test the latest batch? The entire reason they do it is to extract fines and bribes by coming out with fake allegations. It costs them practically nothing to do the test, and then they can charge the company a fine for their "crime" and a fee to reenter the market. And the more they can scare the taxpayers, the more they can insist on their own existence and raise taxes even higher.
Not him, but I hate the government for a few reasons which I can articulate without buzzwords. I think even a person like you can understand these simple ideas.
-It takes more money from me in taxes than the value it gives back in services, and the amount it takes is extremely high
-Most of the money it takes from me is given to parties that I hate, such as the poor, minorities, the elderly, defense contractors, and Israel
-Much of the money is wasted on nothing at all, because the government is so bloated and corrupt
-It conducts war around the world, killing civilians and destabilizing entire regions, for the purpose of enriching parties that I hate
-It spies on me using my own money
-It restricts the information I'm allowed to consume (at least conveniently) by forcing news and tech companies to publish certain narratives and suppress others, as well as by punishing individuals who attempt to spread information that's contrary to its agenda
-It restricts my behavior and prevents me from doing things I would otherwise do, including behaviors which would affect nobody but myself, and it does so via the threat of physical violence
-Many laws genuinely exist for no reason except to impose fines on the public, or make it more convenient for the police to harass you. For example, most speed limits are intentionally set lower than the natural flow of traffic in order to manufacture a situation where literally everyone is a criminal and can be pulled over and searched and/or fined at will.
-It prevents me from drinking raw milk
>-It takes more money from me in taxes than the value it gives back in services, and the amount it takes is extremely high
first point and you out yourself as a lolbertarian. not reading the rest of your post.
You think that statement isn't true?
Explain what is the value you get on your taxes, statist bootlicker. Quality public education? Not in the US. Quality public services? Not in the US. The US government could collapse tomorrow, and it would be a noticeable improvement on the people's daily lives.
>asks for non-buzzword arguments
>gets them
>lol, not reading
You're a literal moron.
What other group of people do you think would be moronic enough to cook with things exposed to arsenic
it came to me in a vision, in which someone implied just that
>What are the chances they got an arsenic pan from the factory to their warehouse and then shipped it out within 9 days?
100% chances
most cast iron pans are filled with lead and other heavy metals as well. the problem is that the material is not resistant to corrosion, and every time that you cook something on a rusting iron pan, a part of the pan ends in your food.
I use a cast iron pan. go pound sand eurocuck
>be a french brand made in France
>particularly popular among cooking snobs in the US
>almost impossible to find in any other european country
how is that
Can't seem to find the actual test results.
Difficult to determine if this is actually something to worry about without them.
In all likelihood you probably get way more arsenic by eating rice than you do cooking with one of these pans.
>probably
see
That's the best we are going to get. Also, Amazon US sent out an email to customers saying their pans were contaminated. Matfer themselves aren't publishing shit.
>product is recalled free of charge due to arsenic poisoning
>mutts cope pretending it's probably no big deal
>even go as far as getting angry at institutions defending consumers health
i have no words
Dude is concentrates as if he was doing open heart surgery.
It's for lighting tap water on fire.
