I love how anything that costs more than six dollars is automatically labelled a meme or 'not worth it' on here.
Bunch of resentful poor homosexuals lmao
This is a meme because it's like 50% fat, maybe even more. Fat is flavor but a certain point I want something substantial, now just fat... Most of that would render off, so unless you're going to use that tallow for eggs or something, it's a waste.
If I want to spend money on something, I'll spend it on lamb because lamb is actually worth it imo.
It's just not very good and it doesn't get better as the price goes up. A bit of fat and marbling does make the taste of meat better and juicier. But I want to taste the meat, not the fat. Pic very much related.
no one who complains about wagyu has ever actually eaten it. it's just poor flyovers coping that it's not worth it. I literally worked in a Japanese yakiniku restaurant for 5 years that served nothing but beef and all beef was wagyu a5 imported from japan or American wagyu from snake river farms here in US. every single cut from the short rib to the large intestines and heart are profoundly delicious. and incomparable to the regular shit you get in a supermarket or even your average butcher shop. don't listen to the crab bucket homosexuals here who eat taco bell on the daily and think their opinion actually means something.
The thing is like 75% fat, yes, it tastes like grease. Filet is good precisely because it is tender without needing the greasy mouthfeel of a well-marbled steak. I like ribeye steak, because it has that deep, beefy flavor, but it needs to have a really good sear and be cooked closer to medium to render the fat, and it's a completely different mouthfeel and flavor from filet. Huge gobs of unrendered fat in rare/med-rare meat is just disgusting. Save the med-rare for cuts that don't have a ton of fat like filet.
I had extremely well marbled prime ribeye cap steaks, and that was greasy and overpriced. I would not want to pay more than double the cost to get even more greasy meat.
good beef is a medium ribeye with a great sear on a charcoal grill or a filet cooked medium/medium-rare with a nice pan sauce. Prime ribeye cap is just fatty, gristly garbage.
I do like fat more than muscle flesh. It's ten times as tasty when cooked. Offal meats have more nuanced flavor than flesh or fat, so I don't like to compare with those.
Love that REAL meat, hate wagyu it's not for real meat eaters like me. Every like = 1 meat SOLDIER that gets some frickin steak that isn't wagyu or something.
Just go to your local Asian grocer and buy like 400g, it's cheaper than you think and as far as I can tell A5 is the equivalent of beluga caviar when most wagyu isn't prohibitively expensive.
Get some rice and some wagyu pieces (over here you can buy presliced wagyu), cook it on the stove in a regular pan with or without salt and pepper, don't bother dipping it in soy sauce but maybe google some Japanese sauce recipes, and just fry and eat over rice. But beware: You will probably become a wagyu addict afterwards.
It's a complete and utter waste of time, effort and money.

Literal flyovers have better access to this shit than you do

Not Wagyu. Cry more. Cry louder. I've had the original and it's shit. A mouth full of lard. A complete disappointment.
If it cost $5 per pound nobody would give a frick.

we have cow fat at home

You haven't had any, either
You've never tried waygu, have you?
some of us can afford to buy stuff just for fun
It has the marbling of 70/30 ground beef. But, you know: "thing", "thing, Japan" yatta yatta yatta.
It's just not very good and it doesn't get better as the price goes up. A bit of fat and marbling does make the taste of meat better and juicier. But I want to taste the meat, not the fat. Pic very much related.

Never tried it. Not interested.
>5% meat 95% fat
no wonder americans love it
how do those cows even live with muscles like that
Honestly you probably have muscles like that.
God damn I'm probably really tasty. Or I just taste like weed.
It's intramuscular fat, not epithelial
Idk, looks kind of dead to me
>Meat for people who don't like meat
butthurt poor detected.
It makes great burritos and chili though.
ok so now post what it looks like when cooked, genius.
It's not even meat, it's just fat for homosexuals who like paying $100 / lb to taste grease
it doesn't taste like grease. it taste like super tender filet mignon. it can be cooked to well done and still not be dry.
it is overpriced and not as beefy flavored as an angus steak.

No it doesn't and you haven't had it

Nothing at all similar
you don't know what good beef is.

>The thing is like 75% fat, yes, it tastes like grease.
no it does not. stop talking about stuff you have never tried. poor.
>not as beefy flavored as an angus steak.
My point exactly.
>t. OP.
It's japanese, what do you expect? Even their bulls are low T and androgynous.

>I do like fat more than muscle flesh
Only humans have "flesh"
Animals have "meat"
Meat is a general term. Flesh is used when differentiating flesh from organs.
Me me I'm a meatsman
Love that REAL meat, hate wagyu it's not for real meat eaters like me. Every like = 1 meat SOLDIER that gets some frickin steak that isn't wagyu or something.
>Grinds it up to make meme burgers
>infaltes the price further
I would try it if it weren't prohibitively expensive. But as it is, I'm never going to have $400 to spend on a steak.

>Take cheap ground beef
>Throw in a few blocks of tallow
>Run it through a mincer a few times
>Sell it as wagyu ground beef
Not a S-I-N-G-L-E post in this thread has made the claim wagyu is "not worth it".
This phenomenon is called "functional illiteracy", where the person is able to read but does not understand what is being read.
It's a complete and utter waste of time, effort and money.

wagyu is a type of cow. It has been exported abroad for a while now and farms all over the world have it because of its popularity.
OP only eats eye round
That's actually a pretty decent cut for beef jerky
