that isn't too bad, right? the place I'm looking at doesn't allow cash on delivery, so I just hand them the pizza and frick off

Who the frick talks to their delivery guy?

I’ll be completely honest here so you know what you’re getting yourself into. I completely understand where you’re coming from, you want to just drop the pizzas off that have already been paid for, hop back in your car and leave. Yeah well that ain’t happening. Whenever I order pizza (or anything to my house) I always purposely make the drivers feel extremely uncomfortable. Can’t keep my hands to myself. What’s the name of the place you’ll be working at? Wouldn’t mind a pizza, when will you be starting?

    >inb4 le 9gag army
Go to /r/dominos and browse for a bit, then see if you want to do it. It especially sucks for drivers. Overworked to hell and gas compensation goes up a couple cents while gas prices went up a few dollars.

  4. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

    >not compensated for wear on car over time
    >consider a food industry job to have minimal social interaction when you are going to be interacting with co-workers constantly instead of working in the back
    >driving during prime time hours isn't a hazard in of itself
I'd recommend working from home with your expectations but if that is not an option you would be better off doing factory work. But if you want some advice, get a job where the people you work with actually care if you are there or not. Makes a huge difference.

get a comfy night job instead
plenty of places that'll pay you $25/hr to just sit in a building all night, doing nothing to make sure the building doesnt burn down by dawn

Any place where a majority of girls work, just offer to do the weekend night shifts and learn to keep yourself clean and smelling nice. Watch your Ps and Qs and they'll love to have you.

I worked Marcos delivery for about a year and a half 6 years ago when I was 21. Great gig for 4 hour nights. Usually made 60-100 a night on tips, $30 or so hourly. Big nights like halloween or super bowl was close to $150 for 5 hour shifts. I'd get real drunk off cheap gin or whiskey back then, I'd chug the shit out of some Taaka gin and play pubg.

      more about the job itself
      >$2 per delivery, every delivery provided by the company
      >decent area, 5 mile radius as the crow flies >with most being good tippers ($5 is good)
      >Down time is washing dishes, eating food, >sweeping (I did not ever want to make pizzas, >I wasnt an insider I wasnt gonna do anything >more than bare minimal waiting for another delivery)
      >drivers fight over deliveries, may even steal >deliveries or skip you so they get the guy who >tips $10-15
      >trailer trash, foreigners and black people do >not tip
      >say bye to the tip if a kid answers the door
      >not much interacting with customers besides >heres your pizza and thanks

That's no good. Take my advice: become a pro gamer. You can win mad cash at tournies and when you get a following dudes will pay to watch you livestream games. In spare time do some wicked speed runs and watch the YouTube money roll on in. Frick the rents. They don't understand. Wageslaving is a waste of time that only closes opportunities as the years go by.

      Anonymous

do dudes really pay a livable wage to watch schmucks like OP play video games, for any significant amount of time?

That sounds a lot like the porn industry, where girls might make above average wages for a few years at best, that are decimated by taxes and cost of living inherent in their lifestyle, and are back to square one by 30. At which point they have another 40 years to work to survive

you can be an old bastard and still make money streaming if you're funny/interesting/really good at a game though

it's a little more like being a musician or comedian than a porn model, not least in that 99% of them make nothing lol

How much is gas where you live. Do you actually take care of your vehicle?

I'd honestly just get a job at a crummy Taco Bell.

Most of them now seem to largely operate on the principle that they only need maybe two people running the store. They also close the dining room and claim staffing issues. So basically, you sit there, make tacos for 8 hours, leave, maybe take orders from people.

If you have trouble finding a place, you can eat at every taco bell in your area for a few weeks and time them at dinner time, see which one does the worst.

I think your parents are right, you need to learn a work ethic. When told to get employment you went straight for the bummiest, deadbeat shit you could think of. Just getting started and already aiming to be a loser, how typical of kids these days.

what a stupid idea. unless you want to frick drunk bawds and see some weird ass shit in a day, go for it. you can make more money doing less and dealing with more sane people if you just be a delivery driver for ups or whatever.

it's a classic job, you only need 3 tools

    - a copy of 'snow crash' by neal stephenson
    - a killer sound system
    - a marijuana inhalation device

after you complete 1 year of service you are free to enjoy excellent pizzas for the rest of your life

haha been there done that, customers are complete and total fricking buttholes, was an experience in my younger age but never again, just get a warehouse laboring job

This tbh. Warehouse work is great if you want minimal interaction with people. Just pop in some earbuds, do your work and leave

        Anonymous

I've seen too many videos of people being crushed and mangled in warehouses to ever trust working in one. I don't want to end up like that kid who got half his body chopped off and is left as a stump. I wonder if he's still alive, can't imagine he will last long in that condition. But then again how do you have a nice day with no arms legs or lower body don't think the guy could even shuffle across the floor unless he used his chin to drag.

depending on the dominos location the pay for drivers in tips can be insane on weekends for less work than you think, usually ~double the pay of managers there

If you want minimal interaction become a dishwasher, you only gotta answer to other coworkers
Also not only will you kill your car from driving everywhere you'll pay out the ass for gas

Does your job/state cover gas, mileage/wear and tear. That shit is gonna get brutal. Might as well just find a staffing agency and work at a warehouse. I doordashed at the start of pandemic and made a shitload after costs but now delivering food doesn't seem worth it at all.

Skip the fast food dead end and look for a dishwashing job at a real restaurant. Then, if you're not a complete moron, you can work up to a cook position.
Avoid chain restaurants if you can. Corporate jobs are meant to be demoralizing and you will work with the most moronic people available.
