i have that exact one and it's easy to clean. just poke out the garlic with dish brush. ofc if you are slob and let the garlic remnants dry out it's b***h to clean.
Very useful piece of kit, though generally the build quality on them is quite poor and eventually even the solid metal ones will crack, I switched over to using a small food processor when mine broke.
I used it once, decided that I don't like it and left it not-cleaned in a drawer. A couple of years have passed and I needed specifically some pressed garlic, so I took it out and put into a glass of hot water to clean it. And you know what? - the leftover garlic has absorbed water and looked and smelled perfectly fresh!

How does this compare in taste and potency to fresh garlic? I have honestly considered it a few times, especially recently as I've been trying to master a few chinese dishes which require large quantities of minced garlic
I recently moved to a place where fresh produce isn't as big of an option, so I had to settle for jarred garlic. I hate to admit it, but I can't taste a difference. :
never leave home without it
a b***h to clean, so i stopped using one
is the meme about crusing garlic true, that it makes it bitter?
the ikea ones are easy to clean
depends on which one you mean. pic rel is a b***h to clean

I have an el cheapo one that has a removable sieve, super easy to clean.
good for you
No.
>is the meme about crusing garlic true, that it makes it bitter?
No, but I would assume it's easier to burn in this state.
mine broke and I miss it but have been too lazy to replace it

>AIIE! You have to fricking slice it by hand! You apparently have 2 hours of free time every night!
no, won't be
>2 hours to slice garlic
Wtf are you doing... I slice the cloves, remove the stem if there is one, and crush the halves with my knife. Takes 30s.
PITA to clean. Stopped using mine.
Eh i usually cut 'em real thin then slowly roast them in oil.
they'll liquefy in the pan
Dr Pimple Popper
hate it less than chopping garlic, but i still hate it a lot
prefer microplane
I prefer this. Much easier to clean and less waste. The main drawback is that it's not as finely grounded but for most recipes that's not an issue.
Just buy a jar of mince
>not just saving work, money and being more green using powder

These things are good for ginger too.
I doubt that.
Okay. Ive only been doing it for years. Takes slightly more strength to press than garlic, but it works.
This anon is right. I also use mine for ginger, but you gotta get the pieces sized right.
come home white man.

If you listen to Adam ragusea, there is a difference.
>listening to that nerd ass homosexual
Pshh, yeah right.
Useful in a pinch, but I use a microplane most of the time
I wonder how well naughty German Adolf Hitler would perform if he took George Martin's place as The Beatles producer.
Broke two, now I just use a knife.
The
>its a b***h to clean
is a meme right? Sorry I'm new here
I use a micro plane easier to clean and more versatile
just crush and grind with pestle on chopping board
I just use a mortar and pestel
you like eating tiny tiny granules of stone?
