I've never been on a calorie surplus but I've thought about this question before. It depends on the individual. Right now I have bad acid reflux so it would probably be something like milk and i'd drink it throughout the entire day.
Calories are units of measurements of heat (burning something in a closed environment) and have nothing to do with how the body metabolizes food and uses energy, not to mention the measurements you see on packages or elsewhere are usually inaccurate and off by 20% as per standard guidelines.

No joke either, after I started working out I've most of the time been staying away from too much beer, but whenever I'm on a strength program and I end up drinking to excess (but obviously not so much that I'm too sick to lift) the gains have been as good or better than when I'm not drinking beer.

-frozen spinach
-steel cut oats (blend these two first before adding anything else, might need to add some milk if your blender stops before it’s pulverized)
-Healthy Delicious Nature's Earthly Choice Goji Cacao
-whey protein
-milk
-banana
-frozen fruit
-Greek yogurt
Should be in the 900 calorie range.
