cake mixes are actually formulated to just need water, when they were originally introduced you just added water, adding (extra) eggs to the instructions was a marketing ploy to make the cakes seem more authentic.

with how precise baking has to be, it's extremely unlikely that you can make a cake from scratch that's better than the boxed stuff. I know it's antithetical to how we usually view home cooking versus shopping, but it's true for cakes. I remember a redditor telling a story about their wedding cake business, and all they were doing was making the boxed stuff and selling at a 100X markup
>soda generally isn't that sweet >fricked his taste buds to the point where 30% sugar in his beverage doesn't make his tongue revolte
land of the fat I guess?

M'lord, pray share some beige with us. Winter last was harsh, and our youngest John didn't make it. Please spare us your slop so we may fatten for the coming cold. Please m'lord, we would be honored to take your eels and offal. God be praised for this bounty.
I've had sprite cake before but it was supermarket slop at I think a somekind of potluck as a kid and was let down (kid me thought soda and cake would be amazing right beforehand)
I would say the sprite one might not taste that bad, I hate root beer but the strawberry short cake seems interesting too pls deliver anon I believe in you
Don't know, I've never tried it.
There's no way 1 8oz can is all you need to make this, the cake would be flat, solid, and dry
i would have assumed those are 12 oz cans. but with no eggs or oil, i doubt those "cakes" would be very good.

Is this true or are you going to make me ruin a box of cake mix for a laugh
Yes
No it is true. People didnt trust them because it was all a box (dehydrated egg/milk and all).
They don't add the powdered egg or butter anymore, that's why you add fresh eggs and butter.
It's true, different reasons are cited, I originally heard it as "so housewives didn't feel obsolete".
Oh, you're right, but stilll

angel food mug chads stand up and take a bow
Those cake mixes are already really sweet.
the sweetest soda i've ever had was Ski, Grape Fanta, and flat root beer that'd be open for like 3 days in the heat. soda generally isn't that sweet.

The heat of the soda rises the cake.
