    wtf you got it all backwards. I cook only in non-stick but a grill is the only piece I have in cast Iron. that stuff doesn't work and meat will stick, only you won't be able to clean it with a steel wool pad and a bit of water like a cast iron one.

      Never happens anon, cleaning is piss easy and I grill with my metal tongs, carefully.

    I'm not against non-stick cookware, it clearly has its uses in the kitchen, but buying a non-stick grill pan is moronic (same with non-stick woks). You're supposed to grill something at a pretty high temperature, an that's always not recommended for teflon or other PTFEs, because they start to degrade and release toxic fumes after a certain temperature.
    grill marks are a meme anyway.

      >toxic fumes
      nothing burger, very high exposure just results in temporary flu-like symptoms. The real danger is in workers exposed to the coating process and 3M dumping their effluent into rivers so it ends up crossing your blood-brain barrier.

      The instruction booklet says not to leave the pan overheating on high fire, but it doesn’t specify anything else.
      I leave it on the medium/high stove and toss water drops over the pan to see how fast they evaporate, then when it happen in a reasonable time (cast iron would be a matter of seconds when it’s hot) then I toss the steak, grill 2 minutes per side and lower the temp.

      What could be an alternative to this pan which is not a thick and heavy cast iron? I don’t want to babysit the pan bros…

              the mineral b is the basic b***h but the handle is coated in some resin so you'll have to babysit it if you put it in the oven. it also gets hot so you may need to use a towel for heat.
              for peak no babying get the "carbon plus" line, stainless steel handle but cheaper than mineral b pro, also hollow handle so stays cool, can go in the oven no problem
              look for these refs 5130.${diameter}
